About Us
The Boat
Escape is a 35 x 19 foot sailing catamaran.
Unlike monohull sailboats, catamarans sail flat with virtually no heeling over.
You and your guests can do as much or as little as you want in handling the
boat or just relax and listen to the sounds of the wind and water.
All you need to bring are sunglasses, towels, sunscreen, whatever you would like to eat or drink, and

Captain Jay
Captain Jay has been sailing his whole life.
The first boat he had was a sunfish sailboat sailing on a pond on the family farm in Missouri.
After moving to Florida in 1998 he began charter fishing in Estero Bay as the original owner of Good Time Charters and Tours. While there he sailed a 38 Morgan for several years. After selling Good Time Charters,
He did a summer on the Chicago river and sailed on a 48 foot Morgan. From there he went to Louisiana to sail regattas on Lake Pontchartrain. He finally returned to Florida in 2015 to run tour boats and then bought Escape in 2016. Captain Jay spends summers in Panama City Florida where he does sailing charters and tours swimming with dolphins.
Captain Jay returns to Fort Myers Beach in September to do sailing charters and run a variety of other boats.
Captain Jay holds a fourth issue 100 ton masters license, with able bodied seaman unlimited as well as radar unlimited endorsements.
Where We Sail
Or dock is located at Salty Sam's Marina on the north end of Fort Myers Beach. After leaving the dock, we head West. Past the shrimp boat fleet and head under the Matanzas bridge and into the Gulf of Mexico at Matanzas pass. We then pick up a heading based on the best wind. This might mean we sail in front of Fort Myers Beach, or sail West around the tip of Sanibel. Since we try to sail on a broad reach, this means we are generally in the lee of the island so the water is calmer. Either way, we are rarely more than a few miles offshore.

our trips.
During the winter, dolphin are everywhere enjoying the clearer water that comes with the winter months. You might also spot turtles, Eagle rays, pelicans and all kinds
of other birds. Escape also has a draft of only thirty inches, which means she can get into the backwater channels in search of dolphins in the bay. Captain Jay has extensive knowledge of marine life and always looks forward to your questions.
Types of Sailing Adventures
4 Hour Cruise
Depending on the wind, we can either sail in front of Fort Myers Beach or around Sanibel. This is a casual, laid back trip, island music playing, or bring your own music. The captains guitar is also always on board so if you play, just ask.

Our vessel is limited to 6 passengers.
These prices reflect a non private boat. If you have a group or 4 or fewer and want a private boat there will be a $50 surcharge.
Quarter Day - 2.5 Hour Cruise
This is a short trip to get the novice out on the water and to find out how a catamaran sails.
A great sail for younger kids. There are almost always dolphin on the way out and we also pass the shrimp boat fleet. You'll see great places to eat along the way before raising the sails and heading into the Gulf of Mexico. Take part in raising the sails, steering the boat, trimming the sails and setting course. Or just relax. Your choice...

Sunset Cruise 2.5 hrs
Enjoy a romantic sunset cruise in the Gulf of Mexico. You and up to five of your close friends will depart from Salty Sam's Marina on the north end of Fort Myers Beach and set sail, returning to the pass at sunset.

What to Bring
• Passengers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult..
• Please No Black Sole Shoes .
Boat shoes or barefoot only.
• We sail with a 2 person minimum and
a 6 person maximum.
• Bring a camera, sunglasses, sunscreen, a towel, a hat, and layer your clothing. Bring your swim suit for sunning.
• Escape has a large cabin for warming up or if you want to get out of the sun.
• Bring whatever you would like to eat or drink, adult beverages are encouraged, sloppy drunk is not.
• We have ipod/mp3 input so bring your own music if you would like.
• Cooler with ice, cold water, and fruit are also provided.
• We are licensed and insured.
